MONDAY-18th a hot day, an all time record was set in Saint-Malo 40.8°C (105.4°F). Walked to the plage du Bon Secours to cool off in the ice cold water. This beach is the closest to our apartment. It is just a hundred steps or so from the apartment; 350 meters, 382 yards, 1148 feet

TUESDAY-19th Sandy went to the marché early and on the way back she met our friend Madame Yvonne. She is in her 80s and comes to Saint-Malo each year for the months of May through September. She lives in Rennes.
We tried some Sophie training this morning, but were not overly successful.

Still hot in the morning, 29, but this afternoon should be a cool off. We took a late afternoon walk down to the harbor and then out on the mole. We saw Madame Yvonne sitting on a bench in the shade talking with a friend. We said hello, she laughed and we continued on our walk to the mole.

Sandy invited Gwenaëlle and Corentin, from the top floor of the apartment building, to have an aperitif with us Saturday evening. They are children of the owners of the top floor apartment, Nicolas and Nathalie. Gwenaëlle and Corentin are university students working here for their summer jobs.
WEDNESDAY-20th and we did our usual Tuesday shopping today instead. Watched the Tour de France stage today. Went for a walk to the harbor and on the mole. A cruise ship was in the harbor.

THURSDAY-21st we got an early start on our walk to the Rocabey marché. We purchased some pork for Sunday, and some cheese and olives for Saturday evening. Saturday evening Gwenaëlle and Corentin will be coming to our apartment at 18:30 for an aperitif.
On the way home we met our friend Jean-Yves and Fripouille his dog walking along the quay Dougay-Trouin.
Afternoon walk to the harbor. Saw the cormorant and a lot of people. Stopped at the wine shop on the way back.

FRIDAY-22nd and we did some aperitif shopping at the Intermarché Super. This is to prepare for the visit tomorrow of Gwenaëlle and Corentin for an aperitif. Met our friend Eliane while crossing through the parking lot on the way back to the apartment.
Stopped by the boules court in the afternoon, said hello to our friends, Philippe, Guy, and Jean-Yves. Then we went to the harbor.

Stopped at the Carrefour City for some Kronenbourg 1664 beer on the way back to the apartment.
SATURDAY-23rd and we had only one thing to do this morning; pick up our Nespresso coffee package at the post office. Must not run out of coffee.
Gwenaëlle and Corentin were here for an aperitif this evening. Sandy had some great finger food for everyone to nibble on. We had a great time talking with Gwenaëlle and Corentin about all sort of things. It was good French language practice for us and good English practice for them. At the end, there was no food left, just a good indicator of a successful evening.
SUNDAY-24th was a slow day. We took a short walk in the morning and decided it was a bit too warm, so we returned to the apartment. For dinner we had the pork brochettes we bought Thursday at the butcher.
A couple of new license plates we noticed this week; Lithuania and Denmark.
