MONDAY-20th walked to the harbor and then on the mole in both the morning and afternoon. There was a threat of rain showers which kept us close to home.

TUESDAY-21st had us walking to the Intermarché Super where we did the large item shopping for the week. Our friend Guy was leaving the store as we were arriving. He was there early and we were a bit late.
In the afternoon we took a walk out to the harbor and walked on the mole (breakwater). There was a diver working near the Renard sailing ship and a sail-surfer speeding around the harbor.

WEDNESDAY-22nd walk on the digue. The digue was very quiet. The tide was out so there was not much surf noise. There were very few people on the digue, not many walkers, not many bikers, and few runners. The pictures below were taken at noon and we were pretty much by ourselves.

THURSDAY-23rd we walked to the Rocabey marché. We did our usual shopping for meat, vegetable and fruit. The marché was not busy at all. On the walk back we once again saw our friend Jean-Yves and his little dog, Fripouille (scoundrel).
This evening we went to a new restaurant, Le Bar à Tartines. A tartines is a fancy French open-faced sandwich topped with spreadable ingredients. It was very good. You can read more about the restaurant here on Trip Adviser. We will have more to say about the resto after our next visit.
FRIDAY-24th and we took a long walk on the digue. It was low-tide and the beach was huge. You could see a lot of rock formations which are usually under water. The low-tide exposed a lot of the rock formations. We did see a man running in sandals. The second time we saw him he was running bare footed, so he must have been toughening up his feet for some sort of event.
The afternoon was very quiet with an on-again off-again threat of rain. When we did go for a walk we made it a short one because the wind was blowing too strongly. We did see some notices in a few parking lots which closed them to parking for the next 10 day or so. It looks like a film company is going to do some filming on and round the south ramparts. We’ll have to keep an eye on events.
Just before returning to the apartment we stopped at the beer store L écume des bières (Beer foam). We bought a bottle of cider and two bottles of beer.

SATURDAY-25th and we took a walk to Esplanade Saint-Vincent. The esplanade is just outside the ramparts by the castle. The city hosted a Fete des Corsaires (Feast of the Corsairs) today. The event has people dressed up as pirates and people from the 18th century. The event is focused on activities for children to do related to the seafaring history of the city.
In the late afternoon we returned to the Esplanade Saint-Vincent to watch the parade for the close of the Fete des Corsaires. There were dozens of costumed actors representing, military, pirates, lords and ladies, bourgeoisie and peasants. There were also dancers from India since the event specifically included references to 18th century voyages to the East Indies.

SUNDAY-26th and we took a great walk on the digue. The weather is great, low 17°C (60°F), light winds, and some clouds. The digue was a busy place today, as was the beach. It was low tide, so there were many people walking on the beach.

Love your pictures. So great that you can walk everywhere, buy fresh fruits & veggies & meat daily, and go to such unique events. You are experiencing some history !! Keep us posted on the film they are making. That should be interesting. How’s your sweet little cat doing ? Still hot here. But did go to Kollen Park yesterday to celebrate David Newton’s Memorial. Had a big crowd, and his mom & sister were there too.
