A new experience for us today! Saint-Malo bay was the site of a rowing competition. We watched a total of 19 boats race in the ocean. Each boat had 4 people rowing and 1 person directing from the back of the boat. The spectators were yelling to encourage a team from the Netherlands and teams from the area which are called Malouins. The sky was a brilliant blue color, highs about 17C /61F but very breezy. Phil and I watched from on top of a point that stuck as far into the bay as possible. I had my hood on to keep my head and ears warm and wore gloves. We walked over 8 kilometers/5 miles so I came home and took a nap! Four hours in such fresh air is exhausting! I’ll have to do some research on rowing teams because I thought they were considered sculling teams and they only took place on the river. I stand corrected.
